Veterans who develop heart conditions as a result of military service may be eligible to receive VA disability benefits. The majority of heart conditions are rated by VA under 38 CFR § 4.104, Schedule of Ratings– Cardiovascular System at 0, 10, 30, 60, and 100%. 111.28 -> a veteran continuously takes medication for the  heart condition they should receive a 10 rating  
116.24 -> at minimum so let's talk about the 60 rating the  rating criteria for the heart changed recently  
122.48 -> in november 2021 so since that's still fairly  recent and there may be claims pending prior  
127.04 -> to the change i'll quickly cover both the old  and the new criteria so prior to november 2021  
132.88 -> in order to get a 60 reading for the heart there  would have to have been evidence of two or more  
137.52 -> episodes of congestive heart failure in the past  year the condition would have had to have more  
142.88 -> than three and up to five mets and cause shortness  of breath fatigue chest pain dizziness or fainting  
150.24 -> or result in left left ventricular dysfunction  with an ejection fraction between 30 and 50  
157.04 -> after the november 2021 change you can meet the 60  criteria if your condition scores 3.1 to 5.0 mets  
165.36 -> and it results in heart failure symptoms the 60  generally accounts for when a veteran experiences  
171.44 -> very debilitating symptoms during low levels  of exercise including walking or light yard  
177.12 -> work which for example weeding or mowing with  a power mower as of december 2021 the monthly  
183.92 -> rate of compensation for the sixty percent rating  is one thousand two hundred and fourteen dollars  
188.96 -> and three cents and lastly a sixty percent  va disability rating for a heart condition  
194.48 -> could qualify you for total disability based on  individual unemployability which compensates you
