This Herbal Tea Is Not Good For High Blood Pressure & Anxiety

Not all herbal teas are good for high blood pressure or anxiety. Some herbal teas actually make anxiety worse. Some herbal teas also make high blood pressure worse.

Enter matcha tea. Matcha tea is not good for anxiety. Matcha tea makes anxiety worse. Matcha tea is also not good for high blood pressure. Matcha tea may make your blood pressure control difficult.

If you are searching for matcha tea for high blood pressure, then you need to watch this video first. If you are also searching for matcha tea for anxiety, then you also need to watch this video too. I like herbal teas but sometimes experience will tell you that certain teas may not be suitable for certain specific conditions.

If you watch this video you will discover why I say matcha is not good for anxiety or high blood pressure. Indeed matcha tea will make anxiety worse and matcha will also make your high blood pressure worse too.

Matcha will not be my recommended herbal tea for stress either on the basis of my experience using it. If you are looking for ways to lower high blood pressure naturally, I wouldn’t advice using matcha tea.

You may use matcha tea for other purposes but anxiety or high blood pressure control shouldn’t be the reasons why.

52.42 -> What is going on. This story I'm about to tell you is about a specific herbal tea
58.989 -> That I introduced into my lifestyle
61.96 -> Earlier this year. It's a funny story. What's this tea I'm talking about. It's
66.79 -> Matcha tea, okay. Matcha tea. This is a tea in question and it's got nothing to do with this brand by the way
72.869 -> It's all about matcha tea in general. Matcha tea has been receiving a lot of attention on the Internet lately
78.99 -> I sort of felt I was missing out, you know fear of missing out because I love teas as you probably know
84.75 -> I love lots and lots of teas and
87.07 -> Matcha tea turned out to be one of those teas that I had not introduced into my life
91.259 -> And I thought I should get it
92.909 -> So I went and I got a good number of cans of this matcha tea
98.07 -> I got this. I was using it for about three weeks non-stop every day. During those 3 weeks
103.71 -> I discovered that my blood pressure
106.899 -> was
108.549 -> the top value was in the 150s and the lower value was in the 90s and
114.909 -> I
115.93 -> Was wondering what on earth was going on because my blood pressure is usually pretty good
121.24 -> So I had to do a self audit of what I had introduced into my life at that point in time
126.85 -> It turned out that when I did the self-audit, it turned out that this tea, this herabl tea, this matcha tea
133.22 -> Was what I had introduced into my life and
136.56 -> to all intents and purposes
137.85 -> That was the reason why my blood pressure was out of whack and then I stopped using it
142.61 -> And of course my blood pressure went back to normal. Why did that happen?
147.69 -> well, I'm going to give you an explanation as to how and why that happened and
152.73 -> You know because I had to do some digging to actually find out why this was the reason why my blood pressure was up
158.82 -> So let me give you the background as to why
162.21 -> Matcha tea is not good for your high blood pressure, and it's also not good for anxiety
165.99 -> this story starts from the plant from which the matcha tea is actually made from
172.11 -> matcha tea is made from a plant called camellia sinensis and it is the same plant from which
177.57 -> black tea, green tea and oolong tea actually made from. But there's a difference between matcha tea and the rest i.e
185.28 -> green tea, black tea and oolong tea. With matcha tea
188.25 -> the leaves of the camellia sinensis plant
191.21 -> are actually just dried up and then they are
193.23 -> Pulverized into a very fine powder and that is what you have here as Matcha tea. With the others
199.35 -> Green tea black tea and oolong tea, there's some processing involved
202.28 -> In fact with black tea, the tea leaves actually oxidized before you end up with the black tea
207.77 -> But with matcha tea, it's just the pure green leaves of the camellia sinensis
212.49 -> That's what you get. What that means is that you're actually getting everything good about the camellia sinensis plant
217.98 -> Leaves as well as everything bad about it and therein lies the problem
222.14 -> So, what's good about the camellias sinensis plant and matcha tea as well as the green tea, black tea and the oolong tea is
227.99 -> That the camellia sinensis plant leaves actually has high levels of
232.97 -> epigalloCatechin-3-Gallate, which is the antioxidant and that's reason I bought the tea in the first place because it's got high
239.1 -> Antioxidant level. So, with the matcha tea because it's coming from the pure leaves and you consuming the entire leaf
244.37 -> I felt I'm gonna get a higher content of the antioxidants
247.73 -> But just like you've got that; you also got two other compounds that are in direct competition with each other. By that
255.5 -> I mean a
257.1 -> Non-essential amino acid called L-theanine. The L-theanine has a calming influence on the body, which is good
262.85 -> but alongside that you also have
265.85 -> caffeine in the matcha tea
268.26 -> Which is a stimulant. So, you have the Theanine which has a calming influence on the body
273.42 -> As well as Caffeine, which has a stimulating effect on the body
276.86 -> so you've got these two things competing against each other. Whether you become calm and focused or
283.95 -> You become excitable, anxious, fretful or even having problems initiating sleep
288.99 -> depends on the ratio of the Caffeine to the Theanine you have any tea in your hands because
294.12 -> The matcha tea, green tea, the black tea and oolong tea, they all have varying levels of caffeine and theanine in them
299.94 -> Like I said before the green tea, black tea and oolong tea; they're processed tea
304.43 -> So they have a lower caffeine to theanine ratio in them
307.86 -> in fact
309.21 -> the black tea has a ratio of 2 caffeine to 1 theanine
313.68 -> The green tea has a ratio of 1.5 caffeine to 1 Theanine. In the matcha tea the ratio is 2.5
321.48 -> caffeine to
322.5 -> 1 Theanine. And that is why the matcha tea is not a very good tea for you if you've got high blood pressure or
329.31 -> you've got anxiety or both. Never mind what the retailers of the matcha tea will tell you because when you go to their website
337.11 -> they're going to emphasize the calming influence of the theanine and they tend to de-emphasize the fact that
342.87 -> The matcha tea actually has a high caffeine content. I can tell you from personal experience that the caffeine content of the matcha tea
349.77 -> It's not ideal for somebody who's got high blood pressure or anxiety because it's gonna make both conditions worse. In case you have forgotten
356.91 -> caffeine actually has a stimulating effect on the
360.75 -> Sympathetic nervous system. It revs up the sympathetic nervous system and that's why it's not good for Anxiety and that's why it's also not
367.01 -> good for someone who's got high blood pressure because for both conditions
370.38 -> You want the parasympathetic nervous system to dominate the sympathetic and in this case the sympathetic wins.
376.35 -> And if you remember when I did a video on the herbal teas for high blood pressure
379.82 -> I did include green tea as one of the teas you can use to control your high blood pressure
384.3 -> However, I specifically said in that video that if you're going to use green tea for high blood pressure
389.48 -> You have to go for the decaffeinated variety and the reason is because the caffeine effect of the green tea
395.37 -> overrides the theanine effect and because of that the decaffeinated variety what you must use. The same underlying principle applies to
403.139 -> the matcha tea. The dominance of the caffeine is
406.77 -> unquestionable. So, as far as this video is concerned
409.83 -> If you're going to use any tea that arises from the camellia sinensis plant; go for the green tea but use the decaffeinated
417.659 -> Variety, but you must avoid the matcha tea because the matcha tea will exacerbate your high blood pressure
423.889 -> It will make your anxiety worse and it's worse when you've got both conditions
428.189 -> Anyway, I hope you got some value from this video as usual
430.55 -> Give it a 'Thumbs up' if you learned something and if you got any comments
434.33 -> Leave your comments below. Share this video with anybody whom you think would benefit from it. That's it. Until next time, well, this is
