May is Stroke Awareness Month so it’s a good time to learn about the signs of a possible stroke using the BEFAST method to identify new symptoms or changes in: Balance, Eyes/vision, Face (changes in symmetry), Arm and leg weakness, and Speech.

Time is of the essence so seek medical attention right away if you have any of these stroke warning signs. UC San Diego Health treats the most complex stroke cases at our two Comprehensive Stroke Centers in Hillcrest and La Jolla.
