9.61 -> So I’m just going to do a little test on
the sole of your foot Allan.
12.7 -> Just to tell us a little bit about the reflex
activity in your muscles since you had your
16.84 -> stroke and we can just do a comparison between
the two sides.
20.31 -> So I’m just going to run my thumb up the
foot here.
24.36 -> We can see that as I do that the toes just
move down slightly.
28.47 -> That’s called a flexor response or a negative
Babinski.
32.27 -> A big name that one.
35.14 -> We can compare on this side if we come up
this side and we see the toes move up in to
39.93 -> extension and that’s called a positive Babinski.
42.96 -> So it just tells us that the control of the
reflex activity in this right side is affected.
49.05 -> Right
We can also just have a little look at the
53.84 -> reflex activity in your tendon jerk.
59.07 -> So if I just rest your left leg here on my
hand.
62.11 -> Just let your head relax, let everything go.
63.91 -> If I just go here we can have a look at your
tendon activity here.
68.67 -> Just let it go.
72.64 -> So very mild, that’s fine.
74.82 -> Then we can make a comparison.
81.78 -> Again nice and relaxed.
86 -> We can see the difference between the reflexes
of the two sides of your body.
90.1 -> We can do this.
91.1 -> Test these reflexes in different positions
but it is quite helpful in this position.
