Stroke survivor, Leslie Jordan, shares her story of survival and recovery

Pregnant with her first child, Leslie Jordan was diagnosed with preeclampsia in her third trimester. Devastated but determined, Leslie managed her diagnosis and eventually gave birth to a baby boy. After delivering, Leslie started experiencing a terrible headache, and soon, her speech slurred and her body felt like it was on fire. Leslie suffered a stroke and woke up in the ICU paralyzed. Having to learn how to walk and talk again, Leslie’s perseverance was vital to her recovery. Today, she wants women to know the signs and symptoms of stroke so they can give themselves the best chance of survival. Leslie is a member of the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women 2023 Real Women Class of Survivors.
