What Are The Complications Of Hypertension?

Silent killer! Complications.
What are the complications of hypertension? What Are The Complications Of Hypertension?
Dangers of hypertension. Hypertension leads to relentless, asymptomatic damage of the inner layer of the arteries leading to build up of plaque limiting the flow of blood. Every artery in the body is affected. In addition, the constant high pressure in the wall of the arteries could lead to a weakening of the wall and bulging of the artery called an aneurysm. These aneurysms could rupture causing life threatening condition.
If the artery affected supplies blood to the brain you get a stroke, if it is a coronary artery, you get a heart attack, if the artery supplies the kidneys you get kidney failure, if is the arteries supplying blood to the eye you get vision loss, if the damage is in the large arteries supplying the lower extremities you get claudication, ulcers and potential gangrene. If it is the pelvic arteries that supplies blood to the penis, you get erectile dysfunction in men and vaginal dryness and difficulty in reaching orgasm in women.
There are ways of lowering blood pressure without pills. I will put a link to a video on “Top 10 signs you are eating too much salt”

0 -> video 43 What are the  complications of hypertension?
5.28 -> Hello friends I'm Dr T. Today we are addressing the
8.64 -> complications of hypertension, the silent killer  can quietly damage the inner lining of your
14.52 -> arteries for years before any symptoms develop. Let's talk about damage to the arteries.
20.04 -> The healthy arteries are flexible elastic  and are strong, the inner layer called the
27.48 -> intima is smooth allowing blood to reach  vital organs and tissues throughout the
31.8 -> body and high blood pressure leads to  damage to this inner layer leading to a
38.16 -> buildup of plaque limiting the flow of blood.  Every artery in the body could be affected,
43.56 -> but in addition the constant blood pressure in the  wall of the arteries could lead to weakening of
50.1 -> the wall of the artery itself causing a bulge it's  called the an aneurysm and these aneurysms could
56.16 -> rupture with life threatening consequences. They can happen in the aorta,he big artery
62.04 -> coming out of your heart they could happen in the  arteries in your brain with serious consequences.
68.28 -> If the artery affected supplies blood  to the brain you get a stroke. if it's a
72.72 -> coronary artery you get a heart attack, if the  artery affected supplies the kidneys you could
77.58 -> get kidney failure and if the artery supplying  blood to the eye you could get the vision loss,
83.52 -> if it affects the arteries going to lower  extremities to your legs you could get potential
89.1 -> ulcers and even gangrene requiring amputations. Let's dive in a little bit more.
93.6 -> Damage to the brain. Limiting blood flow to the brain
97.2 -> would lead to a TIA a trans ischemic attack  also known as a mini stroke due to temporary
103.2 -> Interruption of blood to the brain. If an artery  in the brain gets cut off you get a brain attack,
110.4 -> really a stroke and even if smaller  arteries are affected you can get
115.08 -> memory issues cognitive impairment even a  type of dementia called vascular dementia.
121.5 -> Number two. Damage to the heart.
123.3 -> The high blood pressure affects the heart in two  ways. In one end makes the heart work harder to
129.78 -> pump blood to the rest of the body, this higher  work higher load will lead initial to thickening
135.24 -> of the left ventricle it is called hypertrophy  of the left main pumping chamber of the heart but
141.24 -> eventually the heart will weaken will enlarge and  will develop congestive heart failure. And on the
147 -> other hand if a major artery supplying blood to  the heart gets cut off ,blocked then you'll have
152.82 -> angina, unstable angina even a heart attack where  part of the heart muscle will be damaged forever.
157.98 -> Number three . Damage to the kidneys.
160.14 -> Your kidneys filter excess fluids and waste  from our bodies.High blood pressure damage
165.18 -> the blood supply to the kidneys causing  scar tissue leading to kidney failure.
170.34 -> iI this was not enough the kidney damage would  lead to worsening blood pressure creating really
176.4 -> a vicious cycle. Number four.
178.14 -> Damage to the eyes. Damage , injury to the small vessels
182.34 -> supplying the back of the eye called retina could  lead to bleeding, blood vision and vision loss.
188.16 -> Number five. Damage to the sexual organs.
191.34 -> Limiting blood flow to the pelvic  arteries and the penile artery in
195.66 -> men could cause erectile dysfunction. Women will also experience sexual
201.36 -> dysfunction decrease in sexual desire vaginal  dryness and difficulty in achieving oogasm.
206.88 -> number six . Damage the lower extremities.
209.64 -> High blood pressure with other risk factors diabetes ,high
213.78 -> cholesterol and smoking could lead  to build up of plaque in the arteries
218.28 -> going to the legs. This could cause  intermittent claudication non-healing
223.86 -> ulcers and even gangrene requiring amputation.  The damage caused by high blood pressure happens
229.62 -> over many years, however sometimes the blood  pressure could rise it's called a hypertensive
235.8 -> crisis .It happens when your blood pressure  is above 180 over 120. it's so important
240.96 -> I'll actually make a video on this issue In summary hypertension is the most prevalent
244.92 -> cardiac risk factor in adults. In Western  Society according to the new definition we
250.68 -> have 126 million Americans with high  blood pressure and this is a silent
256.32 -> killer will relentlessly damage the arteries  throughout your body without any symptoms.
261.9 -> The only way to diagnose it is measuring it. Don't be a victim, know your numbers.
266.94 -> There are ways of lowering blood  pressure even without medications.
271.68 -> I'll put a link to a video for instance on  the top 10 signs you are eating too much salt.
276.36 -> Be smart . Take control.
278.46 -> Your health is your most precious asset. I'll see you next video
